Samuel Green, Gregory Asmolov, Adam Fagan and Borjan GJuzelov are the four authors who were commissioned by the European Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee (AFET) to prepare a study on the role of false news in the Western Balkans.

A 103-page study published on the official page of the European Parliament, titled “Forgotting and Deinformation News in the Western Balkans and identifying effective ways against them, includes Kosovo on two pages, the newspaper Inseder writes.

This study, which tells of the main trends and patterns of deninforms and the fight against deninforms throughout the region in the period from 2018 to 2020, explains how this phenomenon worked in Kosovo as well.

According to the document of these four authors, it explains how the engagement of the Trump Administration with only one post on the social network of Titter, caused the Government of Kosovo, then led by the Leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, to collapse.

The “was frustrated by what he saw as an obstacle by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Ambassador Grenelli, apparently arranged for Senator David Perdue and the son of US President Donald Trump Jr. make a statement in Titer suggesting that American troops would withdraw from Kosovo. Ambassador Grenelli continued to hold this threat, which had not been made by any US official in negotiations with Kurt's coalition partners, leading a no-confidence motion to be filed that brought down Kurti Government.

But what are VV leader Albin Kurti's connections to its authors?

Adam Fagan One of the authors of this study and a professor associated with the Vetevendosje Movement.

At a virtual table on the “Managerium vs Staff”, organised by Vetevendosje in October of this year, Professor Fagan was also participating, writes Inseder.

The issue was discussed on September 4th, and in particular the yearlong suspension of Kosovo for membership in international organisations.

“This table, with two separate sessions, led members of the Headship, Albulen Haxhiu and Victory Pacolli, and were participating as speakers and local and international professionals. I was speaker on the second side of this table, along with Florian Bieber, professor at the University of Graz; James Ker-Lindsey, professor in LSE; Aida Hehir, International Relations at Westminster University; Adam Fagan, professor at Kings College London; Tim Judah, correspondent of The Economist; Dana Landau, researcher in Swiss; Bodo Weber from Democracy Policy Council (DPC); and, Gzim Visoka, associate professor in Dublin City University”, said in a Post of Kurti on his social Facebook network.

Kurti had shown that from the views she had reached with other professors, and also with Professor Fagan had been that the magues, defects and consequences, as Kurti, Kosovo's current prime minister, Avdullah Hotin, “illegal prime minister”.

“From a very different perspective, we reached very different conclusions, on shortcomings, shortcomings and the consequences of unilateral pledges by Kosovo's prime minister and the Serbian authoritarian president at the White House seven weeks ago. We need principled dialogue, democratisation and transformative and not for (d) nontransparent, ad hoc and transaction”, Kurti said.
