“Safe Journalists” reacts to attack on journalist Valon Syla

The regional platform of the Western Balkans for Media Freedom and Journalists Security Avochem, has explained in detail how journalist Valon Syla was attacked by three people in downtown Pristina, until one of them had punched him.

December 22nd, while walking in Pristina, Valon Syla, journalist, faced three unknown people. One of them asked “Are you Valon Syla?” To avoid problems, Syla denied and kept walking. A person caught him and told “Do you stop showing up on TV? Can you not talk to me? The eye managed to escape and to call Police”, it says in response.

This platform represents more than 8,200 media professionals in the Western Balkans.

Any attack on journalists is an attack on public interest, democracy and the rights of all citizens”, the response concludes.
