Russia's Investigative Committee said the 38-year-old suspect, Radik Tagirov, had confessed to killing 26 elderly people by terrorising central Russia between 2011 and 2012.
He was identified using DNA evidence, shoe tracks and other evidence from the crime scene, say investigators, writes The Guardian, following Periscope.
Tagirov entered the dwellings of elderly women who lived only by pretending to be row fixers, plumbers, and similar.
As soon as he entered, he hurled his hands at women, either by hand or by using an object nearby. Most of his victims were over 70 years old.
He often robbed his victims, but sometimes he didn't even touch the valuables. /Periscope
