Rexhep Selimi's lawyer: Rex won't go if he's protected in freedom, that's what Kurt said about it.

David Young, lawyer of former KLA member General Staff Rexhep Selimi, has used a statement by former Prime Minister and Movement Speaker Albin Kurti in his request for his client's provisional release. Reasoning that there is no danger of Selim's escape in case [...]
Reasoning that there is no danger of Selim's escape if he is released, Young writes that Kurti had said Selimi's activity has always been characterised with honour and integrity.
The escape risk. Mr. Selimi is a public figure who is known throughout Kosovo as politician in the Vetevendosje political party and currently serves as a member of the Kosovo Parliamentary Group on behalf of that party, where he is also chief of the Vetevendosje Parliamentary Group. As explained by Mr. Albin Kurti, leader of Kosovo's largest political party and former Kosovo Prime Minister, patriotic and professional activities by Mr. Selimi has always been marked by full devotion, honor, and integrity in carrying out his duties. These tasks have been essential, starting with the position of minister of Public Order in the Kosovo Permanent Government (1999-2000), that of the Defence Academy Commander (2000-2003), and most of the time, the last of the deputy political party Vetevendosje in the Kosovo Assembly”, has written the lawyer.
He has also cited Selim's co-operation with the Special Prosecutor's Office during his interviews as one of the other reasons for his client's provisional release.
“Z. Selimi fully co-operated with SPS investigators after being issued a call for an interview by SPS, which he voluntarily attended for three days with SPS on 12, 13 and November 14th 2019. He arranged his own trip to The Hague, travelling from Pristina with the goal of participating in SPS interviews. At the request of the SPS, he returned to The Hague from Pristina for two more days of interviews on 18 February and 19 February 2020. Mr. Selimi answered SPS questions and did not exploit his right to legal representation during interviewing”, said in part in Young's request.
He has demanded that Selimi be released temporarily on or without parole. Likewise, Young has asked the presiding procedure judge to decide to hold a hearing on the matter on December 16th.
The defence has also demanded that the deadline for application receiving be reduced from 10 to four days.
