Full announcement:
I would like to announce that today, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, I have introduced myself to the prime minister of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama, the irrevocable and immediate resignation as acting minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania. After the very successful end of the OSCE chairmanship, the opening of negotiations for membership with the EU, the extraordinary effort to ensure a seat at the Security Council for 2022-23, implementation of a series of unprecedented measures for the establishment of the Albanian factor in the Western Balkans, and since Albania is on the electoral threshold, where I do not intend to engage as an MP candidate, I consider that the chapter of my service at the helm of Albanian diplomacy is complete. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to Prime Minister Rama for my trust and close co-operation in less easy circumstances for Albania. I am also very grateful to all MEPJ collaborators and staff for their continued support in the common journey, to build a diplomatic system worthy of the ambitions of European Albania and to uncompromy in defence of civic and national interest. In closing, I underline, among other things, that Albania's commitment to deepening co-operation strengthened relations with Albanians in the region must continue at any cost or price. Thank you from the bottom of everyone's heart for supporting, criticizing, and working together! You have my gratitude for life. Serving you has been the greatest honor of my life.
