The two ethnic Armenians were not fighters, residents in the respective villages said. Both were beheaded by people in Azerbaijan's armed forces uniforms.

Short and terrifying footage of the killings are among the most terrifying images showing the abuse, torture and murder that have continued between the parties even after the ceasefire agreement reached by Russia, reports The Guardian, states Periscope.

The Guardian confirmed the identity of one of the victims with a relative, and checked the passport app where the photograph suggested great similarities to the other victim.

Two residents of the village of Madatachen, in Nagorno-Karabakh, identified the victim as Genadi Petrosyan, 69, who had moved to that village in the late 1980s from the town of Sumgai, Azerbaijan.

Genad had refused to leave home. When a neighbor tried to force him, he left his car and returned home.

Even the other identified person had refused to leave his home, bearing the name Assryan. /Periscope
