The daily number of new infections and victims again reached record figures in the United States.
During the last 24 hours, 247 403 new infections and 3 656 deaths were recorded as a result of COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University data (JHU) of Baltimore.
The highest value before that, with 233, 133 new cases and 3 306 deaths, was registered on December 11th, the ATS reports.
A total of 16.9 million people have been infected with COVID-19 with about 330 million people.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 307 500 people have lost their lives as a result of COVID-19. In absolute terms, these are bars higher than the rest of the world.
