While introducing new Interior Minister Bledi Cuci, Prime Minister Edi Rama has stopped at protests held in Albania since he is in charge of the government.
Rama has indicated that in seven years his government has not violated the right to protest, and that in some cases it has reflected from citizen protests and decided in their favour.
stinging the opposition, Rama said that only in Albania do political parties cause violence in protests and think they have the right to insult and hunt the police and have no consequences.
The prime minister responded to critics who claim police have violated protesters, expressing otherwise. Rama has stressed that state police have never exceeded the right to exercise force during the protests.
“E said otherwise democracy is the slightest evil among the possible forms known to date to the social and state body, which means that injustice is inevitable even in democracy, and protests are inevitable, protests are also useful, the even best government in the world can't solve all the problems of a country or society. And we are far from unmatched. I can honestly say that the mistake of disrespecting the civic protest we've never done. I am proud of the fact that in these seven years the government has not only always heard the voice of protesters, but in not a few cases has reflected and changed its approach or position on a particular issue in the face of the protestors' reason. This may not be much, but not a little, considering previous experiences. For me, the most important thing is to be the right thing, and always the government is right. The right to protest has never been discussed, the right of protesters is always in question. This government has never detected the right to protest, and every protestor has always been respected. Respecting the right to protest has caused violation of the right of others, yes, citizens. For example, in the case of the New Ring, the right to protest has been exercised and respected in the interest of a certain group, while the right of a large number of citizens has been violated to circulate freely every day for hours. The same thing with the theatre, where a certain group of artists held public property hostage for two years and strongly violated the development of a project for a new national theatre. It wasn't our weakness. Protests can be a right that many or minorities exercise, are not the numbers that define it, and one man has the right to protest. There's always a time to listen and a time to decide, in a case in favour of protesters and in another case in favour of the government, and when I say the government it's the right to decide with the mania of the majority. In 7 years, nothing different from democratic countries has happened in connection with police behaviour with protesters. But it has happened that political parties have exercised violence, not once, but for months and months, with cycles or happened to have been returned as a legitimate right that the policeman could be touched by hand. In no democratic country can the citizen insult the police without consequences. State police have never overstepped the right to exercise force “,said Rama./ Opinion. al
