Police in Albania warned Monday against holding protests on the murder of a citizen by a police official.
In a statement issued to the media, police cited the “s that were caused by the pandemic of Coronavirus” and demanded that each respect the isolation measures taken by health authorities.
These measures include stopping the gathering of more than ten people to the public, police hours at night, wearing masks and physical distance.
Albania's citizens have challenged these measures and have protested since police have killed Klodian Racan, 25, in the early hours of last Tuesday.
Police have said Rashi has ignored the officials' calls to stop and have run.
A police officer has been arrested and investigated.
In the Police's statement, released Monday, authorities reportedly will not tolerate any gathering that conflicts with existing limits”.
Citizens' protests in some cases have turned violent, and some protesters have been banned.
Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has apologised for Rashi's murder, while Interior Minister Sandra Llesaj has resigned on Thursday.
But this has not appeased the protesters, who also seek the police chief's resignation and the release of those arrested during clashes with police.
Protests have focused mainly on Tirana, but there have been other cities as well.
