Petkovic wraps up first day in Kosovo he recognises with visit to Drenica

The director of the so-called office for Kosovo in Serbia's Government, Petar Petkovovic, has wrapped up his first day of his visit to northern Kosovo with a visit to the Baja village monastery of Sqkorej. At Baja's monastery, Petkov talked with Serbian bishop Teodosije. Both warned new investments [...]
Bishop Teodosije named Petkoviki's visit as encouragement to all Serbs in Kosovo, while successor to Marko Djurici said the state of Serbia and the Serbian Orthodox Church represent two unbreakable pillars of Serb survival in Kosovo.
This means that in the coming period we will do everything in our power to support the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Diocese of Raska and Prizren through various projects, and in this medieval monastery we are witnessing one of these important projects for the state of Serbia, the Serbian Orthodox Church and all Serbs”, Petovic stressed.
He reiterated that Serbia and the Serbian people need peace.
As part of his first visit since taking office as director of the so-called office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petkov also held meetings today with the new North Mitrovica chairman Milan Radojevic and Serbian List Chairman Goran Rakic.
The Kosovo government has acknowledged that it has granted permission for the director of the so-called Kosovo office in Serbia's Government to enter Kosovo today to stay on a planned two-day visit.

Government spokeswoman Antigona Bajzak has already said the permit has been given in co-ordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is led by Melza Haradinaj, the minister who had issued pompous statements that it would not allow Serbian officials to enter Kosovo without apologizing for war crimes. That's not what happened.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in consultation with the Prime Minister's Office has granted permission to Petar Petkovic to enter Kosovo. The government respects Brussels' agreement on visits by Serbian officials, where it says each request for visits should be consulted first and then made decision”, Bajaku has said.
But, from Prime Minister Melza Haradinaj-Subla's cabinet, it has been quoted as saying that the MPJD was reported on the visit.
Petkovic today and tomorrow will be in northern Kosovo, with whom he will visit Serb majority municipalities like North Mitrovica and Zubin Potok.
