British authorities today reported that they had identified two cases of another new option of COVID-19, more contagious, from South Africa, a country with which immediate travel restrictions are being imposed.
This new version is quite disturbing because it is more contagious and seems to have changed more than the new version identified in Great Britain”, Health Minister Matt Hancock said, the ATS.
“The users of the virus who had travelled from South Africa in recent weeks and those who have been in contact with them are located in quarantine”, he added.
The discovery of this new species comes just days after the discovery of a previous new version, which health authorities say is more contagious.
This mutation, which coincides with an increase in cases, led last weekend to London's impasse and part of southeastern England, as well as the suspension of ties between the UK and about 50 countries, including France, causing an paralysis of intercanal traffic.
