The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore is carefully following developments at border crossings between Slovenia and Croatia, Croatia and Serbia, Hungary and Serbia, and the latter, and Kosovo, where there are a large number of our exiles waiting to come to their homeland for holidays.
MPJD has created an emergency headquarters within our embassies in these countries, as well as within the ministry, to convey each development at border crossings where there is long waiting, and to come to the aid of our citizens who have made their way to Kosovo.
Slovenia- Croatia border, wait for up to 10 hours
The Kosovo Embassy in Croatia reports that based on information from border points, expectations for entry to Croatia from Slovenia's border are up to ten (10) hours, while at the exit, at the Croatia-Serbia border, there are up to five (5) hours.
The reason for such long expectations is the exiles of all Balkan states, including Croatians, who are returning to Croatia for the holiday season.
Our embassy in Zagreb reports that Croatian authorities have increased capacities at these border points to accelerate control and avoid long expectations.
rigorous controls at Slovenia's borders
The new anti-David measures taken by the government of Slovenia have prompted long receptions at the Slovenian border as well. This, as the Kosovo Embassy in Slovenia announces, the Slovenian government's decision prohibits the transition from one municipality to another for all citizens without taking into account citizenship, except for some exceptions. At this point, delays are caused by thorough scrutiny by local authorities to verify all those who wish to cross the limit as to whether they have a fact of which exceptions are exploiting it.
Even in Slovenia, there is an influx of Slovenian citizens returning to their homeland for the holiday season, which has also affected long-term expectations on the border.
On two main borders Hungary-Serbia, up to 5 hours of waiting
The similar situation is also on the two main borders of Hungary-Serbia, where there are long expectations. According to our Embassy in Hungary, at the Röszke-Horgosh border border crossing, time for waiting for small vehicles in Serbia reaches up to five (5) hours, while at the other end point of the Tompa-Kelebia border, near the town of Subotica, expectations are up to three (3) hours.
According to our Embassy, in Budapest, these long wait are taking place because Hungary's main borders with Serbia at this time are widely frequented by citizens from all Balkan countries and abroad.
Information for our citizens crossing transit through Serbia
The Kosovo Interconnection Office in Serbia reports that the large flow of waiting at the crossings in Serbia's entry is also the result of new anti-David measures that will begin to be implemented from Sunday to Sunday in this state.
According to the announcement we have received from Serbia's Interconnecting Office, within the anti-convict measures this state has undertaken, as of 20.12.2020, new measures enter into its territory to enter the test. PCR but not in the case of transit transit. Kosovo citizens spend transit for Serbia, and according to new measures they must release the country within 12 hours.
Increasing controls due to these measures are expected to affect increasing expectations at Serbia's entry and exit border points, for which our citizens who have taken the road to Kosovo should be informed.
Kosovo embassies in Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary in a state of readiness
Our embassies in these countries are in a state of readiness. Even today, our citizens who have waited for several hours without knowing that they have expired with travel documents have been helped. Our embassy has shown high alert by quickly equipping them with travel documents.

Melisa Haradinaj- Stublla, are in a position to respond to any need of Kosovo citizens who have taken to the streets during this period.
