In the second three months, employment has seen a decline in 60 thousand and 31 people compared to the first three months.
But in the report released today for the third month by the AKS, the number of employees has scored 13 thousand and 404.
While in the second three months the number of employees was 294 thousand and 641, in the third month it has reached 368 thousand and 76.
In the communique from the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK) that the employment rate at the Labour Power Survey (AFP), for the third quarter (TM3) 2020 is 30.1%.

“Due to COVID-19 Pandemia, which included the Republic of Kosovo (such as March 2020) -- the results of the Workers Power Survey (AFP) for TM3 2020 were not published according to the planned date of the statistical publishing calendar of 2020, as the AKS has failed to continue collecting ground data from March 16th 2020. Therefore, the collection of ground data for TM3 2020 has been done after easing some measures on the part of the Government of Kosovo, along with the collection of data for TM2 2020. So, from July 06th 2020, the AKS has resumed the collection of ground data to complete the data for TM2 and TM3 2020 and has continued until October 04th 2020.
As the poll is due to the rotation of the sample with panels, the most representative data will be available in the final report for 2020.
According to results released from this publication, two-thirds (2/3) of the population in Kosovo are working age populations. Work age populations include 15-64 years of age. Within the working age population, participation rate in the workforce is 40.0%.
Employment rate at the Workers Power Survey (AFP), for the third quarter (TM3) 2020 is 30.1%.
The highest employment is in men 46.2%, while female employment is 14.4%.
Women are employed, mainly in the education, trade and health care sectors, with 49.7% of them, while males are mainly employed in the construction, trade and production sectors by 46.5%.
Economic sectors, which lead by employment, continue to be: trade by 17.2%; construction by 13.3%; production by 11.3%; and education by 9.1%. Other sectors, however, participate at a lower rate in employment.
As for contract employees, 42.1% of employed persons have permanent contracts in their main work, while 57.9% have temporary contracts.
According to AFP results, at TM3 2020, the unemployment rate is 24.6%.
The most pronounced unemployment is in women at 33.1%, compared to men, 21.5%. The most pronounced unemployment rate is among 15-24-year-old groups with 46.9%.
According to AFP results, at TM3 2020, inactive power is high enough by 60.0%, with special focus of women at 78.5 %, compared to men, 41.1%.
For the implementation of the AFP, TM3 2020, the methodology and standards applied on the part of the AK are harmonised with Eurostat recommendations.
