German leaders have agreed Monday on stricter restrictions aimed at curbing the coronary, days after this state has reported on the largest number of victims in 24 hours.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel has told his party's colleagues that existing austerity measures with bars and closed restaurants are few to control the virus.
“The situation is getting very serious, these measures will not be enough to spend the winter”, it is quoted as saying according to participants at a meeting with its conservative bloc lawmakers. The daily number of infections is not increasing much as days ago in Germany, the largest economy in Europe, but the figures are high, including those of the victims.
Markus Soeder, chairman of Bavari, land that has the largest number of Coronavius victims, has said it is certain that some national and regional leaders will agree to tougher measures before Christmas. They have agreed in advance not to review the restrictive measures by January 10th. Although vaccines are expected to help control pandemic, their numbers are limited, meaning that only certain groups, including older ones, will be able to plan vaccines during winter.
Data from the Robert Koch Institute, which deals with infectious diseases in Germany, has shown 12,332 cases in the last 24 hours. The death toll during this period has been said to have been 147, bringing it to 12,919, the death toll in Germany.
