Meeting in Brussels: Petkov insists on association, even today he tried to put it into question

“has passed 2,800 days and association has not been formed since the signing of the Brussels Agreement. For us, this is a key issue, and if we are talking about the successful continuation of dialogue, it is necessary to form the association”, he said.

Petkov told reporters in Brussels that in today's round of negotiations, property and financial claims were discussed.

This is a very important issue and it's good that after seven and a half years we're talking about property, it's a very sensitive, large and complex issue”, he said.

According to him, Belgrade and Pristina's positions on the finance and property issue were far apart.

We proposed that first we determine principles, and that's why we've come with ready documentation about how to place the system with the field, principles, mechanisms and organs so that we can talk specifically about property”, Petkov said.

We will try to do our best to resolve this important issue in the period ahead of us. By raising the property issue, we are contributing to the general resolution of all other problems”, he added.

As he mentioned, continuing dialogue is very important for Serbia.

“Dialogue is important to us because through dialogue and conversations that are difficult, they are such that sometimes your stomach hurts, but it is better to have it in Brussels at the negotiating table than to have incidents on the ground”, he said.
