VV) Chairman Albin Kurti, through a writing on the social Facebook network, said that a quick conclusion of dialogue should not be targeted, but that content and transparency should be viewed.
He has stressed that elections in Kosovo should happen as soon as possible.
Kurti has indicated that last night she has been holding a meeting with the director of Global Europe Progam, within the framework of US-based Wilson Center, Daniel Hamilton, has shown that she has also talked to her about the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, says dialogue must be principled and well defined, and that Kosovo needs re-registering institutions through new elections.
“also, I stressed that a quick conclusion of the dialogue should not be targeted necessarily, but that we should give priority to the content, transparency and inclusion”, Kurti wrote.
His post:
Last night I had a virtual meeting with Global Europe Director Progam, under US-based Wilson Center, Mr. Daniel Hamilton, and dozens of different international experts from the Workers Group for the Western Balkans under the Center.
Accompanied by our Secretary of Foreign Relations, Kreshnik Ahmeti, I presented the experiences and challenges of our central governance in spring 2020 on our preparations under alternative governance with five of its respective pillars, and on successful electoral results in Besia and the northern Mitrovica municipality that confirmed the large increase of VERY!
The situation in the Western Balkans and dialogue with Serbia were also among the main topics of the meeting. Here I presented our position that dialogue should be principled and well defined, that Kosovo needs re-legigration of institutions through new elections, while Serbia needs democratisation and confrontation with the past. I also stressed that a quick conclusion of dialogue should not necessarily be targeted, but we should give priority to content, transparency and inclusion.
For us, it was very valuable to hear the opinions and analyses of participants on numerous issues discussed, such as the political situation in the US, the chances of restoring the trans-Atlantic report for our region, the level of influence of Russia and China in the Western Balkans, and measures for preventing and limiting their authoritarian influence, etc.
At the end of the discussion, we agreed to deepen our future cooperation.
