Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti has indicated that they are on the verge of changing the party statute that leads him. This change said it would take place to have the organisation of Vetevendosje's wife and Vetvendosje youth, and that it was becoming gender solidarity.
Kurti at the conference within “Women's Week” said without the participation of women and young people there is no democracy.
“We are on the verge of changing our statute, where we will have the organization of Vetevendosje's wife and Vetevendosje youth, so that we can have cooperation and not just competition, have gender solidarity as we want women to strengthen and challenge men. That is why we have undertaken statuteic changes in LVV aimed at voting at the next meeting of the General Council to be held in the last days of this year.
Kurti said they were not satisfied with the number of women candidates on Vetevendosje's list of MPs in the 6 October elections, but that he said he enjoys the fact that the party's ruling women did not need quotas to be deputies.
“On the other hand, we were not satisfied with the number of women candidates on our list of MPs we had for last October 6th elections where we prevailed. On candidate lists for municipal assemblies there we've often exceeded 30 percent, but what we enjoy is the fact that LVV women who are present in the Republic Assembly, none of them have needed the quota to be MP”, he said.
