The IPK recommended suspension for two police officials suspected of mistreatment during the exercise of official office
Pristina/December 29, 2020,
Kosovo's Police Inspectorate has launched an investigation under official duty today following the publication of a video-incriminating suspicion of exceeding police authorisation during the use of force by two police officials in an incident that took place in Vushtrri in the afternoon.
IPK investigators after publishing the video in the media are engaged by taking investigative action regarding this case that has included taking statements, as well as securing some video recordings.
Following some initial investigative actions, IPK investigators have recommended the suspension of two police officials (a police official and a police sergeant) involved in the incident.
In consultation with the competent prosecutor in this case, an investigation into regular procedure will be conducted on suspicion that police officials at the Vushtrri police station have committed criminal work “mishandling during the exercise of official task”.
Further investigative actions concerning this case to clarify the circumstances of this incident will continue by IPK investigators in continued consultation with the prosecutor responsible.
