The Democratic Party of Kosovo wants extraordinary elections in the country to be held as soon as possible, but despite that, they have not yet determined who will be the party's candidate for prime minister. PDK chairman Enver Hoxhaj's post said the party leading has home lords [...]
PDK Chairman Enver Hoxhaj's post said the party leading has house and unity within the party to decide who will lead the party's election list.
We like the PDK have a team of people who are prepared to lead the most important positions the country has. To be president, prime minister and to the most important establishments of governance in Kosovo at every appointed ministry. Of course, the court ruling is a quick event and we haven't spoken such a theme in PDK, but you've seen during the past few weeks that we're parties that make decisions and have clarity in decision making. We will soon go out with the candidate to be mandated, who will lead the PDK list. The name will soon be in public, but you have seen that this time we have genuine inner unity, solidarity with our friends in The Hague and, above all, determination to give direction to every particular subject. The PDK is not without home ownership, we will be taking jobs before”, he said.
Voicing readiness for new elections, Hoxhaj said his only priority The PDK for elections is the economy.
“As the Democratic Party of Kosovo, we are ready for elections and convinced that we will offer the best programme and the most needed people to take on new responsibilities for the country. Kosovo as never before needs clarity, will and courage in decision-making to turn the economy on, restore relations with friends, and draw the newest state out of isolation. The PDK is the only party that has given the country hope of good governance. We will offer hope, stability, progress and the best economic program because we are the best people prepared and the best experience. It is very appropriate for us to hold the elections as quickly as January 24th or January 31st. For us, they are acceptable and we are mobilised to occur over the time”, he said.
In addition, the PDK chairman-in-chief criticised Government Hoti and the former government Kurti, calling them among the weakest Kosovo has ever had.
The only good news this year, from October 6, 2019, is two: The passage of the Economic Recovery Bill with the help of the PDK and the Constitutional Court's yesterday's decision to prevent political degradation and announce new elections. The current ruling coalition, now and several months, had no parliamentary majority to pass a single law. It has blocked the normal functioning of state institutions and that is the most serious ʹ has been led by a arrogance of power and indiscretion”, he said.
As for pre-election coalitions, Hoxhaj said they have not yet talked to any political party
