The candidate for prime minister in the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, on a television show said it was a surprise for him who is already a candidate for Kosovo prime minister, adding that he has experience to have such a post.
I never thought I'd be a candidate for prime minister, but this happened because of the PDK situation. After confirming the charges against Mr. Wessel did something like that. We as the PDK have decided that the party leader should also be candidate for prime minister”, Hoxhaj said, in “News 24”.
Hoxhaj added that 2020 was difficult for Kosovo. He stressed that in the following year, Kosovo had a turbulent political life, underlining that Kurt and Hoti's government degraded the situation in the country.
“Initially Pandemia hit Kosovo and then we had a continuing crisis. Kurt and Hoti's government brought political and economic degradation to Kosovo. Kosovo was hit by charges against Thaci and Wessel. Citizens know that without the PDK the country cannot have stability. Kurt started his government with a break with the United States, and Mr. Hoti didn't succeed. So, The PDK is needed to lead the government. I have the program and the best people to run the government”, Hoxhaj said.
Furthermore, Hoxhaj estimated that the crackdown on Thaci and Wessel by the Special Court has become a force in the PDK. For him, the PDK will this time emerge the first political force in the elections.
I've been on the ground in Kosovo for seven weeks. There is solidarity everywhere in Kosovo with Mr Thaci and Wessel. The sting we received from the Special is angry, and it's turned into force. There is solidarity after this event. KLA is the foundation of PDK and Kosovo. In this election we compete with the best candidacy, starting with me. I have worked closely with Mr. Thaci and Wessel, both of whom have friends. When Thaci and Wessel were in power, I was in government. I've contributed a lot to Kosovo. I'm sure we'll be the first political subject in the election”, closing Hoxhaj.
