Haziri: LDK willing to go to elections, if no agreement for president

The deputy chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lutfi Haziri, has stated that to resolve the political stalemate in terms of the president's issue, dialogue, as Haziri has said, must be done without any condition from political parties. In a conversation to Blic newspaper, Gjilan's first one has added that no common language has been reached as far as the president's case is concerned.
Haziri has said that since the Democratic League of Kosovo has not set conditions in this direction, as he has said, there should be no other parties.
“There is no agreement yet on the president's issue, a deal will still be tried. I believe all roads have not been taken to reach a big deal. However, the issue now is political, the LDK initiative is for internal dialogue regarding the president's solution. The LDK has set conditions and it is not right for other parties to enter into constitutional dialogue, as leaders must sit in the talks unconditionally to resolve a president, who wins majority confidence in the Parliament”, Haziri has said.
Haziri has suggested that if such a thing is not achieved in time, the country, according to him, will go to the elections, which Haziri says the LDK is ready for.
If the president is not elected, the constitution provides another option, except elections. And if there is, the LDK is always ready for election”, he has indicated.
So far, the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) -- which is part of the ruling coalition -- has proposed that for future president of the country only be its leader, Ramush Haradinaj.
Ramush Haradinaj himself has said that, adding that presenting his candidacy for president of the country has been an offer for other parties in order to enable a solution and the country not to go to early elections.
Haradinaj says that if there is no agreement on his candidacy, then the country will go to the polls.
Other Alliance for the Future of Kosovo officials have said the same.
The possibility of going to the elections has also ruled out executive head Avdullah Hoti.
“We are trying to overcome the appointment situation. Nor is the possibility of organising the elections” ruled out, Hoti said days ago.
