Haradinaj has written that he and Rugova had managed to wipe out stressed dividers who were inside Kosovo.
He has also written that he has been fortunate to be a collaborator of Ibrahim Rugovas in the early years of freedom.

Historical President Ibrahim Rugova took over the country's leadership by peaceful means, under very serious circumstances for Kosovo and Albanians.
I had the fortune of being an accomplice to President Rugova in the early years of freedom. I always remember his ideas and attitudes, his cooperation, and privately the support he gave me when I was invited to face international justice.
Together we were able to eliminate the outstanding divisions within us.
