Otherwise, according to abcnews, European Union authorities are expected to make a decision by December 29th for the adoption of the first vaccine for use.
And in this direction, Germany is preparing special vaccine centers.
The news comes as Britain prepares to begin vaccines against coronavirus on Tuesday.
Merkel's chief of staff, Helge Brown, told the Bild newspaper late Sunday that he will show medical authorities he is willing to help.
He said he and Merkel will be vaccinated “when our turn is”.
The figures of infection in Germany have stabilised more or less to a high level since a partial closure began on November 2nd, but have not decreased.
On Monday, the National Disease Control Centre reported 12,32 new cases in the last 24 hours, compared to 11,168 a week ago and 147 new deaths.
Limitations such as closing restaurants, bars, sports and leisure equipment will last until at least January 10th, and some regions are taking or thinking of tougher measures.
