Germany has been in partial isolation for six weeks. Restaurants and bars have been closed, but shops and schools have been open, Reuters writes.
Some regions have already imposed stricter measures and increasingly leaders are supporting the idea of nationwide isolation due to record figures of infection and victims.
Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said Germany needs strict isolation before Christmas, if it wants to slow the spread of the virus.
Moreover, the economy and health ministers said the deadline of existing measures should be extended.
