The number of new infections and deaths by COVID-19 has broken records in recent days due to the failure of total control imposed by the government last November”, he said.
“I hope we can prevent a complete economic closure in the second wave of pandemic”, the minister added.
This statement by German minister on public radio “Deutschlandfunk” followed new measures taken Sunday by Chancellor Angela Merkel in an effort to prevent the second wave of COVID-19.
The new closure will be stricter and will be implemented by January 10th, with nuclear shops closed since Wednesday, in order to prevent the exponential growth of new infections.
