The proposals have been submitted for the privilege of vaccination to the Coronavisur. The Institute of Robert Koch (RKI)'s permanent vaccine commission (Stiko) sent a draft to federation countries and medical experts' associations. Based on this draft, the commission recommends that residents in nursing homes be vaccinated first, as well as emergency staff, transplant medicine and nursing homes. Groups to be vaccinated with priorities, according to RKI data, include more than 8.6 million people.
People between 75 and 80 years of age will be vaccinated in the second priority group, as will those living in the treatment centres. This group includes service personnel at these or permanent services centers. This group is also considered to be highly dangerous infection. Their number is estimated to be over 6.7 million. The third group on the priority ranking list, according to Stiko, is over 5.5 million people between the ages of 70 and 75, as well as those with preliminary diseases or who are in contact with pregnant women.
Inoculation rhythm depending on the amount of vaccines
The reason for determining priorities is that at the beginning of the vaccine, there will be insufficient amount of vaccine for all concerned. The framework for this, as well as the procedure to be followed, defined Bundestag by a recently adopted law. This law served as the basis for Stiko's recommendations, which there will already be consultations. Finally, the vaccination priorities will be determined in a Health Ministry decree. Because of the need to act acceleratedly, land and experts have been called on to give their assessment on these recommendations by Thursday (10.12), writes DW.
The commission predicts that the vaccine will be available by the end of the year or early in 2021. Two ampulas of vaccines are needed for a full series of vaccines within a 21 - day interval.
Provisual recommendations
So far according to the Ministry of Health, we have to do with a pro-visual recommendation, because initially the license of vaccines from the European Union Agency for Medications must be made (EMA). Stiko couldn't have completely underestimated „the data on the efficiency and safety of the vaccine, since these data have not yet been published.
According to a position published a month ago by Stiko, the German Ethics Council and the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina should also be vaccinated with priority groups of endangered persons, even those in the sector who are obliged to submit to key functions such as those employed in security authorities, health offices, or even teachers and teachers.
