France will postpone the reopening of cultural locations and will set police hours to curb the spread of the choreographer.
Prime Minister Jean Castex said infection rates are not falling at the pace the government has hoped for, following the establishment of isolation measures at the end of October.
The order to stay home will be removed on December 15th, when the curfew will begin between 8:00 and 6:00.
The move will not be lifted for the New Year, to prevent large gatherings. The government has conditioned easing measures with the decline in the number of infected to about 5,000 per day. But that number has been much higher than 10,000 on Thursday, 13,750, respectively.
We are not yet at the end of this second wave and will not achieve the targets set for 15 December. We need to stay focused and find our way over the coming weeks”, Prime Minister Castex said at a media conference.
Museums, cinemas, theatres, and sports venues, expected to be reopened on Tuesday, will remain closed for another three weeks.
