Unintelligible is considered the Kosovo government's delay in the appointment of new ambassadors to Washington, London and Brussels, the centres where Kosovo currently is represented only in charge of work. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they say they are in the final phase of consultations on the selection of new ambassadors, while stressing that each of the minister's decisions will be in full consultation with Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti.
From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, they say, that until the appointment of new ambassadors, Kosovo in these countries is being represented with charge at work, which are carrying out all previous duties.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora is in the final phase of consultations on the selection of new ambassadors. The whole process is developing a conform legal procedure, but there is no gap in representation of Kosovo in these states. Ambassador Isufaj inspired, following the decree and conduct of all accredit procedures, has started work on representing Kosovo in New York. In Washington, meanwhile, Ambassador Vlora Citaku is still in office, which will represent Kosovo until the appointment of the new ambassador, as scheduled in the decree of its withdrawal signed by the president. In Brussels and London are our diplomats in charge of work, who are carrying out all pre-priced tasks”, the ministry's response reported.
The point is that Minister Melza Haradinaj- Stubula guarantees a fair and transparent process and that each decision will be made in full consultation with the country's prime minister.
While MP Ariana Musliu-Scheshi says the parliamentary foreign affairs commission still does not have any information about the names and process of selecting new diplomats.
“I think the key problem is political disagreement among themselves, non-coordination and lack of the action plan, lack of a common strategy... This hurts Kosovo a lot when you don't have your strong diplomatic voice in countries where they're decision-makers like Washington, London, Tokyo, Brussels, the main and key points that are of global political decision making you have without ambassadors, and that's a lack of plan, lack of action, strategy, and all get together and then you don't have a success of”, she says.
While according to international relations professor Africa Hoti, this phenomenon has continued to transmit Kosovo governments.
“There is no way to view this except as something negative in particular for the fact that the main deployment centres and those that have busy diplomatic daily activities Kosovo is not represented. This may prove to be justified that such delays have come as a result of internal developments and disagreements between the government and the opposition, and in particular now with the recent developments of the president's resignation, however under the constitution we have our authorities that really function beyond delays, leaving these countries unintelligence with ambassadors is incomprehensible”, says Hoti.
He stresses that deserving people must be placed in Kosovo's external recovery.
Kosovo in Washington is representing Vlora Citaku as the acting ambassador.
In addition to Washington, the ambassador to Brussels, where Kosovo was represented by Bernard Nikaj, nor in London, where the ambassador was Lirim Grejchev.
