An earthquake of 4.4 magnitude struck about an hour after the volcano began its powerful explosion, suggests The Guardian, followed Periscope.
American geologists said they had received more than 500 reports of citizens who had felt the earthquake but that no major injuries were expected.
Kilauea had also erupted in 2018, destroying more than 800 homes and spilling rumors that could fill some 320 thousand Olympic pools.
