Taking into account delays in adopting the Plan for Economic Recovery, the largest opposition party, Vetevendosje Movement, is claiming that this Government has no will and ability to produce even a new package for the support of citizens and businesses in the pandemic.
Although Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has warned that for the year 2021, this government has seen a new package of recovery in the amount of 182m euros.
Commission for Board and Finance Chairman Iron Murati says that this Government has no planning and a health strategy and a plan to save the economy as a result of the David-19 pandemic.
The government is unable to think of packages to help the country's economy and is cut off from reality, because we see that even closing decisions are ad-hok decisions. There is no planning, no strategy, and any health decision would have to be forwarded to an economic plan... As far as other packages are concerned, it is seen that this government is neither with the second package of recovery that has been adopted are not knowing how to execute”, he said.
While, MP The PDK, Kujtim Gashi, says Kosovo had to already have a third or fourth package for recovery, as he said the region's countries have done the same.
Gashi stresses that with this negligence the government has shown, it has brought enormous damage to the country and its economy.
While adding that the PDK will not support the budget's approval, according to this party, support for the management of pandemic and economy as a whole has not been envisioned.
Kosovo had to already have a third or fourth package for recovery, because the countries in the region have done the same. With this negligence shown by the government, it has brought enormous damage to the country... In the first analysis, the bill does not provide an accurate indicator of how the pandemic will be managed and how the economy will be helped. Normally, we'll be against, because we can't be part of the improvisements government makes to Hoti”, Gashi says.
Former head of the Kosovo Economic Ode Safet Gerjaliu states that the government should have a new approach to support the economy and the private sector.
Gerjaliu said it is time to draw up a new package more comprehensive and more supportive for the interests of citizens and companies.
“requires a new approach, a new re-redirection to support the economy and the private sector. That is why it is time to draft a new (peace) which is more concrete, with more inclusive, more helpful to the interests of all and not only in the interests of political parties”, Gerjaliu claims.
Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has warned a new package of economic recovery for 2021, in many of the 182m euros, as well as a list of reforms for a new fiscal package, which are expected to be finalised early next year.
“We are obliged to see even next year a fund for economic recovery that we have made as part of the budget worth 182 million, but which will grow, I believe that during two readings in the Assembly we will grow further and we are also discussing with donors, our development partners to do together the functioning funds of economic recovery. Our whole focus during this period has been on helping families, helping businesses to somehow stay in the market“, he said.
While Deputy Finance Minister Agim Krasniqi tells Kosovo Press that this ministry has not seen a third package for recovery, except for the package for economic recovery with additional health funds.
It's under the package for economic recovery. We haven't shared first, second and third packages. It is a package for economic recovery, and within it was the emergency package. Part of the emergency package is starting to be implemented this year, a five will be installed next year, adding each time the need for some additional funds to remain for health”, Krasniqi points out.
The professor at the Economic Faculty, Nagip Skchieri, says of Kosova Prees, that the third package that would have to contain incentives for supporting the private sector, which contribute to economic and social development, is needed.
He has asked the Government and relevant institutions not to allow abuses from potential beneficiaries of the economic plan.
The third “The package should contain incentives or support for the private sector, which has been most affected by pandemic... Glasses would also have to be the institutions for real beneficiaries to be deserving and through their economic contribution to preserving the country's economic and social standard as a whole”, he said.
While even the business community has repeatedly sought government support for businesses and workers, they were challenged by the Devov-19 pandemic.
