Companies such as “Facebook” and <x2Jube” will have to remove terrorist content within an hour of communication, or risk massive fines, under a new agreement reached by negotiators for EU institutions.
“Since the Paris attacks, we have put European security at the head of the EU agenda to protect our borders and prevent terrorism. Now we've added another piece, removing terrorist content from the” internet, the European People's Party (PPE), the largest group in the European Parliament, said in Titter, as it announced the agreement's reach, the ATS reports.
“In the event of systematic violations, companies can be fined with several per cent of their annual tour, according to a draft agreement between the EP, EU countries and EC”, explained European sources.
The order to remove content could also come from authorities in another EU country, under the agreement.
The agreement will apply to all companies offering internet services in Block, regardless of whether they are located in the EU.
Plans still have to be voted officially by EU countries and parliament.
