Turkey's President, Rexhep Tayip Erdogan, called <x0) total disaster” the French Parliament resolution on Karabaku's Mality, writes Anadolu.
“The decision taken the day before in France's parliament, the co-chairman of the Minsk Group, is a complete catastrophe beyond scandal”, President Erdogan said at the opening ceremony of a newly built highway in eastern Turkey through video connection.
Yesterday France adopted a resolution so-called to recognise Karabakh's Malecy as an independent state.
Erdoğan stressed that Azerbaijan did not attack anyone or anyone's lands, only because it freed its lands that had been occupied by Armenia for nearly 30 years, despite UN and OSCE resolutions.
“Azerbaijan did so by staying within the framework of legitimacy, not targeting civilians and civilian settlements like Armenians”, the Turkish president stressed.
Referring to the French resolution, he said such an attack on the rights of sovereignty of a state is “unacceptable”.
“We hope that international opinion will react to this approach, which is dangerous and will threaten all states initiated by France”, Erdogan said.
The Turkish president also warned that Europe would suffer the greatest damage from this move, as its current political unity owes “a period of bloody and dark combat”.
Relations between the former Soviet republics have been tense since 1991, when the Armenian army invaded the Malthia of Karabakh, territory known as part of Azerbaijan, and seven neighbouring regions.
When the new clashes erupted on September 27th, the Armenian Army launched attacks on civilians and Azerbaijann forces and violated several humanitarian ceasefire agreements.
During the conflict, Azerbaijan freed several towns and about 300 villages and villages from the Armenian invasion.
The two countries signed an agreement brokered by Russia on November 10th to end the fighting and work towards a comprehensive resolution.
The truce is seen as a victory for Azerbaijan and a defeat for Armenia, whose armed forces have withdrawn in line with the deal.
