Kosovo Central Bank spokesman Kuqim Ahmeti, in an electronic response to Kosova Prees, has said that only in January-October 2020, exiles have submitted 90m euros more than the same period in 2019.
He added that this amount of money has been sent from commercial banks through vehicle transfer agencies but also through informal channels.
While saying that states that have mostly sent money to Kosovo are those German speakers, such as Germany, Switzerland, Austria, conveyed by the United States and France.
During the January-October 2020 period, the value of remittances from exiles reached 795.6m euros, or 90m euros more than the same period in 2019, where the total remittances amounted to 705.6m euros. Of this amount, 115.3 million are sent through commercial banks, 556.9 million through vehicle transfer agencies, while 124.2 million came through informal channels such as carrying money in pockets.”, Ahmeti said.
While saying that only in May of this year were some 104m euros sent, compared to last May, which had sent close to 79m euros.
