Capable organs have begun investigating the case, but Serbian hackers recently tried to extract confidential data from the Kosovo government.

This has been confirmed by the Kosovo Government Information Office.

“Based on auditing made by the ASHI cyber security sector, attackers have had the Kosovo institutions' websites”, says the Government's response to Express.

In addition, it has become known that hackers who have attacked Kosovo institutions' websites have failed to reveal any confidential state information.

No information on information technology systems has been taken out through this cyberattack. So all information stored in ICT systems within the state computer network and the State Data Centre are safe and have undergone no change from this cyberattack, the Government declared.

Regarding this cyberattack, the Government of Kosovo has already announced responsible bodies.

“Yes, we have announced competent organs, the Department for Cyber Crimes under the Kosovo Police”, respectively, said in the Government's response.

Long ago, Kosovo has been exposed several times by cyber attacks, which mainly came from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, but also from Russia.
