Faik Konica was born on March 15, 1876, in Konica and died on December 15, 1942, in Washington. It was the magistrate of Albanian art and literature, national activist and writer. He was the son of the famous Konica Beller's door. His mother was bleeding with Ali Pasha Tepelena even though he never claimed it himself. He spoke pure French.
Later he entered the French imperial Lake of Istanbul to then graduate from high school in France. He followed philosophy studies in Dyon and Paris. In 1912, he graduated from literature at the US Harvard University with gold medals, while being named by his friends as “biblica mobile”.
He won several contests, honouring himself with awards for his unusual intellectual skills.
Faik Konica has since linked his life to his work and to the Albanian national movement. After publishing “brochure Albania and Turks” (1895) in Paris it is located in Brussels, where it releases the magazine “Albania”, which became the most important and authority body of our Renaissance. Published in Albanian, French and part-Turkish, as a true encyclopedia, it propagandaed for years (1897-1909) the Albanian National Movement programme, the history and culture of our people.
In 1909 Konica, how the magazine “Albana” was closed in London, invited by natives to the U.S., where it runs the newspaper “Sunelli” and then the newspaper “Krujarumpet”.
With the establishment of the Federation “Vatra”, in 1912 he was elected its secretary-general. Faik Konica and Fan Noli, being the main leaders of the Albanian National Movement in the US, will go to London for the protection of the national issue at the Ambassador Conference. At the Albanian Congress of Trieste (1913), which met to oppose Albania's fragmentation by its enemies, Konica was elected chairman. During World War I and later, he held intense diplomatic activities in behalf of his homeland, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and elsewhere.
In 1921 he returned to the U.S., where he was elected president of the Federation “Vatra”, but by the same time, in the years, he was connected and influenced by the democratic movement taking place in Albania. This would be done through the newspaper “Sunelli” and “American Albanian”
With the failure of the Democratic Revolution and Ahmet Zogu's arrival in power, Konica was appointed the empowered minister of Albania in the US. Minister of the U.S. Royal Court (representative of Albania), Konica was an excellent pianist and a genius writer.
It is considered the creator of modern Albanian prose. Any creator of Albanian literature following him can only be called his student. Faik Konica is one of the most popular personalities of Albanian culture and literature.
Prosator and poet, publicist and aesthetics, literary critic and translator, he, with his multi-pronged work enriched and raised the Albanian word and literary opinion to new heights.
A man of great wisdom and artistic gift, a fine master of Albanian, Konica has entered the history of our national culture not only as a perfect Erudus and stylist but also as a well - known atheist.
