Secretary PDK, Ismaili Uran has said at media conference that candidate PDK for prime minister, Enver Hoxhaj, in addition to his academic career, has a long institutional and political experience.
He worked long and close to the two statesmen we don't have here today, Mr. Kadri Wessel and Mr. Hashim Thaci, implementing citizens' aspirations for independence and state-building. The Democratic Party of Kosovo also enters this election with a clear programme for citizens' needs, and with a team ready for the country's economic and political recovery”, Ismaili said.
PDK secretary Uran Ismaili's full statement:
Dear citizens,
Dear media, welcome!
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has welcomed the possibility of the country going to the polls, following the Constitutional Court's decision.
For more than a year, since last elections, we have had political abuse and mismanagement, of all political parties involved in Government, which had direct consequences for Kosovo citizens and economy.
From the two governments, Hoti and Kurti, we have seen successive failures in relations with pandemics, the economy, as well as in coping with Serbia, the consequences of which we have suffered as a society.
The year 2020, without a doubt, was heavy for our economy. Thousands of workers were laid off, thousands without support.
It was a serious year for health and health personnel. Although they had no support from either government on the front line, both health personnel and patients were left alone in this difficult battle.
It was a hard year for education, sports, art, youth, the elderly. Everyone.
It was a degrading year for the state agenda of the Republic of Kosovo.
And the government of Kurti billed their failure on pandemic.
In fact, pandemic is the clearest indication of their lack of vision, experience and dedication to help citizens.
Pandemia is the most real mirror of their inability.
For a year, they managed to create institutional chaos and civil confusion, pushing forward party agendas and leaving civic interests behind.
After a year of fatigue, severe, and politically ill-managed, it's good news for citizens that this degradation is coming to an end.
News that makes the break from what we saw for a year.
Therefore, today I am happy to have citizens of the Republic of Kosovo declare the Democratic Party of Kosovo's decision that its candidate for prime minister is Chairman in charge, Professor Enver Hoxhaj.
Mr. Hoxhaj, in addition to his academic career, has a long institutional and political experience.
He's been working long and close to the two statesmen we don't have here today, Mr. Kadri Wessel and Mr. Hashim Thaci, implementing citizens' aspirations for independence and state-building.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo also enters these elections with a clear programme for citizens' needs, and with a team ready for the country's economic and political recovery.
The Democratic Party of Kosovo, with its candidate for prime minister, Enver Hoxhaj, will be confirmed as the biggest political force in the country and proven once again as the only government knows and in the centre of its government will be citizen.
