The chief of AKI still doesn't respond to Hoti's post release, what will happen next?

Kreshnik Gashi has yet to respond positively to Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti's request to free up the position of chief of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency. Free Europe Radio has requested answers from AKI if the director of this institution will accept the request for release of the task, but has not received answers until the time of publication of this text.

Under law in effect, the appointment and dismissal of the AKI director is jointly made by the president and prime minister.

In the December 17th announcement, Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti has reportedly asked the intelligence leader to clear up his position.

The presidencys did not respond whether there will be additional decision on the dismissal of the AKI leader, unless he is relieved, as requested by the prime minister, supported by the president's office.

Nor in the Government of Kosovo do they provide additional details for the reasons of this demand, but senior officials have said that the reason can be easily found, in the law on AKI, in part for activities that are not allowed AKI”.

And in this law, in Article 3, which lists “banned AKI functions”, it is determined that AKI has no executive functions. This way, AKI does not: the right to use direct or indirect force.

This article is related to the now confirmed action in the Presidency, where AKI officials have attempted to open the security safe, which contains confidential documents for the president. The event took place on November 5th, on the day Vjosa Osmani took up the task of being a fraud after former President Hashim Thaci resigned and travelled to The Hague, where he is facing the war crimes indictment.

In a televised debate Thursday, former AKI chief Driton Gashi, who holds the position of the president's office secretary, has confirmed that AKI has taken this action because this safe is owned by the Agency, and that such was done in the presence of Faton Peci, chief of staff for the task of the president of the Republic.

But Faton Peci has denied that, for according to him, Gashi had announced that a raid by EULEX” would take place.

This whole story has resulted at the request of Prime Minister Hoti, who has also been supported by the president's task adviser.

Meanwhile, Republika President Vjosa Osmani's post has suspended President Vjosa Osmani from office Secretary of President Driton Gashi on December 15th, with suspicions of serious workwork violations.
