After overcoming the Eiffel Tower, the 1915 Canakkala Bridge, in northwestern Turkey, is on track to become the longest suspension bridge in the world through its middle arch.
Built to connect Europe and Asia, the architecture of the bridge is unique to its finished colors, figures, and towers, rising over 300 feet [300 m], on the two banks of the Dardanelles, a strait in the province of Canakkala between the Aegean Sea in the south and the Sea of Marmara in the north.
With a form to symbolize an artillery shell, in honour of the legendary Battle of the First Gallipoli World War, the arches will be 318m high, with the middle bow of 2023m, with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.
In honour of the Turkish flag, the towers will be red and white, while its total length will reach 4,608m.
When the bridge is finished it will be one of the most important intersections in the world, with a grand opening scheduled for March 18, 2022. /Atsh
