The 59-year-old, as the Oranews broadcasts, has previously been the bishop of a church and is supported by a group of people who believe in marrying many women. But Blackmore himself says legalizing these kinds of marriages would cause women to be exploited.
Winston Blackmore was arrested for polygamy in 2007, but later the charges against him were dropped. Blammore was again accused of polygamy in 2014, but a date has not yet been set for him to appear before the court.
