California breaks records with COVID, puts on new blockades from tonight

The U.S. Federal State California today broke the record in the number of new cases of the Corona virus and is entering a new impasse tonight, while other states are trying to set blockades in order to prevent the spread of infection. California reported 30,075 new cases, well over 21,986 registered on December 4 as well as a new record in the number of patients hospitalised with COVID-19. New Jersey, Carolina North, Virginia and West Virginia also reported a record one-day increase in new infections, Reuters reports.

As the number of cases in the most populated U.S. country increases significantly, California authorities ordered that new strict restrictions be brought into force at midnight in southern California and the San Joachim Valley.

Barettes, beauty salons will be closed, while restaurants can only serve food to receive. San Francisco Bay area will also be closed, with a separate set of measures.

Only about half of the 50 US states have introduced new restrictions last month, as cases, deaths and hospital stays have reached record levels throughout the country.

In 14 U.S. federal states, wearing anti-coronavius masks is not mandatory.
