This has been confirmed in Brussels by Peter Stano, spokesperson for foreign policy and security in the EU.

“can confirm that the idea exists to hold the meeting at the level of chief negotiators in Brussels”, Stano has said, not wanting to provide further details about that meeting and topics that could eventually be discussed on it.

Stano this refusal to give details has argued in the words that “is not a practice that many days before the meeting makes the agenda a public”.

It has been nearly three months since there were no high-level meetings between Kosovo and Serbia. Meanwhile, at the level of delegation chiefs for dialogue the last meeting was held on 29 October in Brussels, when the parties had discussed financial and property claims between them.

In the EU, they continue to state that the goal of dialogue is to reach an comprehensive agreement through which all open issues between the sides would be resolved. According to EU Special Envoy for Dialogue Miroslav Lajcak himself, all agreements on specific topics will be part of the comprehensive agreement.

Even though Lajcak and EU High Representative Josep Borrell have confirmed that dialogue is going well, diplomats in the EU acknowledge that it has significantly slowed down, and for this, the main cause is looking at the domestic political situation in Kosovo.
