After resolving the dispute over some issues about fair competition, participants in the talks clashed for EU fishing rights in British waters, writes the Associated Press.
Sources from both sides said long and difficult talks are in the final phase. The talks continued during the past night, and pizza was sent to participants as they continued working on reaching an agreement expected to be printed on about 2,000 pages.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson held a conference for his cabinet to inform senior members of the government of provisions for the pre-official announcement due later Thursday.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is expected to share the news of reaching the agreement before the pact is sent to the 27 EU capitals and the British and European Parliament for approval.
Despite the developments, trade exchange between Britain and the EU will take place with customs checks on January 1st, when Britain will leave the common EU market.
