American President-elect Joe Biden warned today of the devastating consequences for millions of Americans, if current President Donald Trump did not sign, as has threatened, the vast package of economic stimuli approved by Congress.
“This lifting of responsibilities has devastating consequences”, he said, referring specifically to today's expiration of unemployment benefits for 10 million people and the completion of current state-run financing on 28 December, the ATS reported.
After months of negotiations, US parliamentarians approved on Thursday a support plan for the economy of about $900 billion, but Trump rejected it by demanding, among other things, an increase in direct aid to households.
