Photographs of celebrities were placed on Sunday in an object in the centre of Mitrovica. Although there were 27 figures, part of them was not that of former Kosovo Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi. And there were numerous reactions to not putting in his picture.

The photos of 27 celebrities were discovered during Sunday with Mitrovica's municipality initiative. The event included U.d. of the President Vjosa Osmani, who promoted the initiative, writes Periscope.

However, criticism took place by the Democratic Party of Kosovo é branch in Mitrovica, which says dozens of other names must be included, among them are former Prime Minister Bajram Rexhepi.

Rexhepi has enjoyed over-party support in Kosovo, also because of the doctor's profession he had exercised.

Similarly, PDK deputy Besa Ismaili reacted to their deployment, who said the KLA figures were excluded.

While according to the Mitrovica municipality, setting these photos is simply in the first phase.

But who was Bajram Rexhepi?

The country's former prime minister was born on 3 June 1953 in Mitrovica and passed away in 2017 at the age of 63. He was a surgeon by profession. Rexhepi graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Pristina University in 1979 and completed post-university studies in Zagreb in 1985.

He worked as general surgeon and endoscopic specialist at the Mitrovica regional hospital until 1990. Later, he became the leader of the shadow government in the city and was elected Mitrovica's envoy to the Kosovo Assembly. During the 1999 war with Serbia, Rexhepi joined the Kosovo Liberation Army and spent three months in the mountains serving as a doctor in the operational zone of Shala.

After the war, Rexhepi served as chairman of the Mitrovica municipal council and the mayor of the southern part of the divided town, as well as the head of the PDK branch in the city.

In general elections November 17, 2001, The PDK won 25.7 % of the vote, ranking second after the Democratic League of Kosovo, on March 4th 2002, after three months of talks and the mediation of then Kosovo Prime Minister Michael Steiner, Kosovo's Assembly elected Bajram Rexhepi as Kosovo's first prime minister and Ibrahim Rugova as president.
