This ministry's statement says Belgian dog Fantasy Forever vem Seetalbrick is participating in a programme that should reveal whether dogs can distinguish between healthy and infected people.
A temporary report on the programme confirmed that the dog can really recognize the masks of infected people.
The first phase of dog control is going into practical phase,” said in the statement.
The second dog is currently finishing stage one, while two other dogs will learn that skill by the end of the year.
The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, before which all dogs will pass practical tests on infected masks.
The Ministry of Defence wants to conclude whether it is possible to use dogs in real conditions, for example at airports.
