Today, the first amounts of Pfizer vaccine were reached in Israel and an estimated quarter of the population will be vaccinated by the end of the year.
“I believe in this vaccine and I hope that it will be formally approved for use in Israel in the coming days,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at a ceremony at the Ben Gurionï Airport, adding that he intends to become the first Israeli to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, Reuters reports.
Last month, the Pfizer company pledged to distribute a total of 8 million doses of its vaccine in Israel.
Israel has also ordered coronary vaccines from Modernna and AstraZeneca.
