AKI chief agrees to leave post following Hoti's request

Kreshnik Gashi has been asked by Prime Minister Hoti to release his position at the helm of Intelligence without giving them reason. However, Gashi has complied with Avdullah Hott and Vjosa Osmani's request.
The prime minister's office has confirmed that the AKI chief has already accepted the departure.
“has accepted the request for release from task”, Chief of Chief Staff Ardita Dushi said on Tuesday.
Under law in effect, the appointment and dismissal of the AKI director is done in co-ordination between the president and prime minister.
As rarely since they are in office, Prime Minister Hoti had agreed to the incumbent lawyer Vjosa Osmani, due to Gashi.
Neither party, presidency nor prime minister has indicated the reasons for the AKI chief's departure.
It has only been said that Gashi's dismissal is based on the law on AKI, under which activities that are not permitted to the agency.
Meanwhile as the possible reason for the dismissal, Periscopi had reported that it might be attempting the opening of the safe with confidential documents in the presidency, the day after chief parliamentwoman Osmani took office after Hashim Thaci left.
The president's U.d. Vjosa Osmani, after Gashi, has suspended him from office 15 December, the secretary of the president's office, Driton Gashi, under suspicion of serious violations of duties. Gashi used to be the chief of AKI.
Kreshnik Gashi was appointed to head Kosovo intelligence in November 2019 by then incumbent Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, in agreement with former President Hashim Thaci.
