About 590 people on waiting list for recovery outside Kosovo

There are three states with which the Republic of Kosovo has agreements that patients send for recovery abroad. Turkey has a total of 100 cases, which it has offered to address for Kosovars for free, but due to conditions with pandemic, this option will not be used indefinitely. [...]
Deputy Health Minister Luan Goula has said that in total there are about 590 cases on the waiting list to be healed outside Kosovo.
The waiting list at the emergency situation when required is implemented through the commission, and within 72 hours the commission addresses the requirements, we achieve those emergency requests for 72 hours to address them. The 2019 waiting list total we've carried is about 220 cases, and in 2020 there are about 370 cases. So the total number of the list is about 590”, Gola said it.
Other countries besides Turkey, with which Kosovo has agreements, are Albania and Northern Macedonia.
Patients needing treatment abroad, according to the Ministry of Health, until the age of 18 cover 100 percent of their expenses, while those over the age of 18 cover 70 percent of their expenses.
According to Gola, the number of private hospitals in the Republic of Kosovo is on the rise. He said there are 1633 licensed private health institutions, of which 26 are private hospitals, and also talked about investments planned for this year and next year.
