The year 2020 is being spoken of globally because of pandemic and other unpleasant events for most people currently living on earth. Since the beginning of this year, news of a new coronavirus in China began to circulate. Kosovars did not understand so much [...]
Since the beginning of this year, news of a new coronavirus in China began to circulate. Kosovars did not understand it so well in the first days and weeks of January, being preoccupied with recent political developments.
February 3rd: Kurti Government
On February 3rd of this year, the new Kosovo government, which had Albin Kurti, was voted in. This government was created after 119-day long discussions that had started on 7 October, a day after the elections.
What was surprising was the arrogance of both parties -- the LDK and the VV -- that could have been together in the June 2014 elections for just one day. On June 10th, election results were announced, and on June 12th, Kosovo had government coalition V LAN ( VV, LDK, AAK, Initiative.
Albin Kurti would make her first official visit to Albania, when her nose and lips combined, appeared in front of Albanian counterpart Edi Rama.
But what the citizens knew was that Kurt government wasn't exactly government. It was another electoral platform a campaign from which Kurti and Vetevendosje were preparing for new elections.
March 13th: Thaci- Kurti meeting
On March 13th, a historic meeting was taking place between then President Hashim Thaci and Prime Minister Albin Kurti. The meeting would not be the first, which lasted only four minutes, but would be the first to last longer. How long it would be if state leaders were not told that the pandemic had knocked on Kosovo with the first two cases in the year and Cline!
March 13th: Coronavirus arrives in Kosovo
As expected, the coronobitus arrived in Kosovo as the Kurti Government's reaction was a bit hasty by imposing strong tribulations that would cause major damage to the country's economy.
Even larger countries than Kosovo had placed quarantines and police hours, but at that time the country faced very few cases.
The March period, April and May are remembered for the famous phrase “the next two weeks are crucial”, which of course was not true.
March 15th: 100% First class tax removed
It was only a promise issued by Kurt that violated the promise that the tax would be lifted “but that the” would be introduced. He gave 90 days of time to dialogue with Serbia, while the US did not ask for provisions.
March 22nd: Agim Veliu fired
Isa Mustafa was reportedly asking Albin Kurti to immediately remove the tax, just as he had promised and to listen to the US's demands for failing to establish economic and trade real estate for a while.
Kurti unexpectedly on 22 March decided to download Agim Veliun in an electoral movement that brought him many votes.
March 25: Albin Kurti fired
Kurt knew he'd be fired when he decided to fire Agim Veliu. And of course, that's what happened when VV's engines on Facebook, with activists and sympathies protesting in different forms, until they freely distributed hate languages for the LDK.
This government lasted 51 days.
April 1st: Discreet day: 100% removed tax, Reciprocity
Of course it was all about electoral issues. Kurt did not keep his promise to his voters, nor did he promise to the United States in February, because Yerell had asked for immediate tax removal and non-reciprocity.
During this time, we remember that Kurti repeatedly made powerful statements accusing President Thaci, and even the United States of preparing the “partition scenario of Kosovo” with knives on the map (sic). But for months Richard Greenell the special envoy for dialogue from the White House had launched his efforts to normalise economics between the two countries.
This had resulted in two economic agreements, the one for railways and for allowing commercial flights. Of course, Kurt went on with his “thic on map” something that proved false even on September 4th.
June 3rd: Hoti Government Vows Will Improve Relations With US
The Hoti government was voted in the Kosovo Assembly, consisting of the coalition between the LDK, AAK and Initiative parties.
This government had difficulty making the numbers, since the AAK had not voted with all MPs, while even the LDK turned it down with Vjosa Osmani and Haxhi Avdyli. Minority MP Etem Arifi had voted for her and the vote would cost Hoti a fall.
June 24th: Special Court Publics draft indictment against Hashim Thaci
Hashim Thaci, president of Kosovo, was preparing to go to Washington for meetings with the Serbian side where the chief negotiator would be Avdullah Hoti.
This meeting was cancelled as the Special Court draft issued. Thaci had promised to resign once this indictment was confirmed.
September 4th: Washington meeting takes place, there was no “thics on map”
Of course, Vetevendosje would oppose any agreement made by Avdullah Hoti in Washington. And, of course, even coalition members like the AAK and the Initiative would move disgruntledly. But the deal didn't have “thics on map”.
What was described as problematic was the deal for Wyman that would form a group of experts to determine the shape of management, since this artificial lake lay in both countries.
November 5, Act on Hashim Thaci Confirmed
The indictment against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi from the Special Court was confirmed on November 5th.
This left Kosovo without president, The PDK saw the party speaker, the VV saw the parliamentary group's leader, and the initiative saw the head of the national council (or so).
However, the consequences for the country were great with the world media making news.
As a counter-re response had a major “Freedom has a name” that tried not to tarnish the KLA's name, at least in the country.
December 21st: Constitutional Court Breaks Down Hoti Government
Based on MP Etem Arifi's inadequacy with the court's firm verdict, the Constitutional Court decided to announce elections in the 40-day term by ousting the Hoti Government.
