However, according to Mehmeti, during the July-August months of this year there are promising data, where new loans allowed by the banking sector are worth 320.7m euros compared to new loans issued in the same period last year of 260m, or an increase of 23 per cent.
Mehmeti stressed that deposits continue to represent the main source of financing for the banking sector and marked annual growth of 8.6 per cent in September 2020.
It is important to note that household economies' deposits represent 67 per cent of total deposits in the banking sector, which have scored a 7 per cent increase compared to the same period last year”, he adds.
While the effective interest rate on credit is 6.4 per cent as much as it was in September 2019, while the interest rate in deposits is 1.5 per cent, the same as in September last year.
